Nearly 85 kenshi attended the Alex Bennett seminar in late February. We had some amazing Sensei adding to the experience with Oji Waza (Applied Techniques) being the theme alongside some extra Kihon training.
Aside from being divided into four grade related groups, and learning a lot of new approaches to Kendo training, we celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Sugiyama. As Mr. Ken Wells Sensei said in the Saturday evening speech, Mr. Sugiyama convinced his wife to come to a tropical Pacific island to celebrate this monumental occasion, then added in a little Kendo as an aside.
